Mindfulness and an Intuitive Heart

This morning, while driving down a two lane road, flanked by 300 feet high Douglas fir trees, a thick fog limits my vision, I have this sensation of being other dimensional and not of this plane. Suddenly, my driving becomes a cognitive process and I put my thoughts of other realms aside and focus on arriving safely at my destination. After all ,  a group of 24 youngsters, ranging in ages 6-7  are waiting for me this morning.

Today I get to work with a group of wonderfully excited and delightful children.
Today we are  going to do Intuitive work. We begin with sitting criss-cross applesauce, fingers in the zoot position, eyes closed and ready to take the inward journey. The children love this work. They are always eager and happy to get to business.  As I settle myself , they are sitting with their fingers ready ,waiting for directions and prompting.

We close our eyes. We see in our mind's eye the silver chord that runs through our spines and connects us to the stars. I sneak a peek and love how they suddenly sit tall and straight, pulling their spines upwards and becoming straight and attentive.  We then see a golden beam of sunshine come in to our fore-heads. This sun light runs through our  bodies and then up again in and around our  hearts. We then  focus on our breathing. Our  breathing is  natural and there is nothing that we need to do with it. We notice how our breathing flows in and out through our  noses, and through our bodies and that we don't have to do a thing.  I tell them that our body has a natural intelligence. It knows just what to do and it knows what it needs. I have them see how relaxed our  bodies become and they follow the flow of the air.  I remind them that this is how they breath when they are sleeping. Right now, we are awake and when we wish to relax, all we have to do is say the word , relax, and our bodies will be as relaxed as they are now. We  bring the air through our bodies and it goes to our hearts, imagining the air, and the energy flowing, circling our heart.
Now, we  focus on our  heart area and how our heart feels with each breath that generously comes to our bodies. We  listen to the important message that our  heart has to share.
I give them time to allow a message to come to them. Then we thank life force for taking care of us and for loving us and our bodies. We thank the breath for flowing through us, for loving us and for making us grow.

During this exercise I have witnessed children with Asperger's and Autism, sit quietly, partaking and pulling this work to them. They are a part of the collective consciousness that pervades the room. There is no judgement in this space of pure love and light energy. We are all one. There is no difference any longer between old and young, abilities or disabilities. All we are is pure love and pure energy.

I am grateful to these young beings for being my teachers of  acceptance, love and generosity. Given the ingredients to grow and thrive, they do it so naturally.

As I get back into my car for the return journey home, the dense fog has  lifted and I can see clearly.
